Parents Night Out - Debrief
This was very successful and everyone seemed to have a good time.
We should find a way to thank volunteers.
Some thoughts to consider for next year:
More things to do in the quiet area
Is it really necessary to split out the age groups?
Can we get BHHS students to volunteer and set up stations? Perhaps get contact information for the National Honor Society as those students need volunteer hours.

Books and Bingo - 4/18
Gretchen confirmed that South Sound Literacy will come.
Lisa is submitting the Facility Use Form.
Students/families will likely start to donate books next week.
Chelsi created a flyer and these will go home with students soon.
Chelsi agreed to be the bingo caller.

Family BBQ - 5/30
No specific discussions.

Garden Day - 5/31
Brian Hinkle (Grounds & Maintenance) has requested information about how many attendees we’ll have.
May not try to tackle too many things this year.
Chelsi created a flyer for this.
ACTION: Chelsi to email Heather’s girl scout troop for help with this event.
ACTION: Chelsi to create a google sign-up for the event.
ACTION: Chelsi to decide if her husband wants to pursue getting infield mix.

PTO Website
Lisa created a draft of a website for the PTO.
May want to reconsider asking people to be “members” as that may imply more of a commitment than we are asking for.
Other schools make a request to families to contribute $5 to PTO or $15 for a “leave-me-alone” contribution. Something we could consider.
ACTION: Lisa to use the flyer Chelsi created about “What the PTO even does” to add information to the website.
ACTION: Lisa to work on coordinating a separate meeting to discuss more of the content for the website.
ACTION: Lisa to work towards a website launch in June in conjunction with our June PTO meeting where we elect officers.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Staff Appreciation Week is May 5-9.
ACTION: Chelsi is working on something for staff during conference week and is seeking input from staff about what they would like.
ACTION: Gretchen to work on seeing if Body Mechanics can come.
ACTION: Chelsi to figure out food- ideas: BBQ place by Meconi’s, Taco Bar, Burger Bar

Other Business / Reports
The PTO got all staff something for conference week as a little something extra. Spent <$100. This was well-received.
Chelsi made food for folks for the principal interview night.
The PTO sponsors water/gum/snacks for 3rd-5th graders during SBA testing. Chelsi emailed the relevant teachers for input.
ACTION: Gretchen to insta-cart these items once we receive requests.
Mrs. O’Shaugnessy is currently out on bereavement leave. We should get her something. Her favorite restaurant is Pelligrino’s and her favorite color is red.
ACTION: Chelsi to get a Pelligrino’s gift card and red potted plant for her upon her return from bereavement leave.
We haven’t done much in the way of thanking volunteers and those who donated throughout the year. We’d like to do one big thank-you at the end of the year. Added to the next meeting agenda.
